EDAIC Trainer App: Features, Limits and Alternatives

The EDAIC Trainer is an official ESAIC mobile preparation product for EDAIC Part I. For its 2026 release, ESAIC says access runs from 2 April to 30 September 2026, includes more than 200 Part I-type questions, costs €60 and is non-refundable. Access can last a maximum of six months within that fixed window, with an unlimited number of sessions during the access period.

Those facts answer only part of the buying decision. A candidate also needs to ask whether the question volume, explanations, topic selection, progress view, access dates and learning workflow fit the rest of the study plan. This guide reviews the published offer and compares the jobs that an official trainer, a larger question bank, textbooks, guidelines and mocks can perform.

Disclosure and review method

What ESAIC officially publishes for 2026

ESAIC describes EDAIC Trainer as an initiative of its Trainees Committee, endorsed by the Education and Training Committee and Examinations Committee. It says the app provides validated questions structured in the same format and covering the same topics as EDAIC Part I, together with answers and explanations.

The public 2026 feature list states:

more than 200 EDAIC Part I-type questions and answers;
regular updates and new questions added;
explanations for the answers;
progress tracking through score percentage over time;
selection of preferred revision topics;
unlimited sessions within the valid access period;

Purchase and download begin through a myESAIC login, according to ESAIC. The same page gives an official contact for content questions and prohibits replication, screenshots or redistribution of the app's material.

Do not reinterpret “200+” as a full public inventory or guaranteed final total. Do not assume that 2026 dates, price or terms will repeat in 2027. Use the dated official page.

The strongest reason to consider EDAIC Trainer

Its clearest differentiator is provenance. ESAIC says the questions are validated, use the examination's format and cover the same topics. A candidate who wants an official example of how ESAIC frames Part I-type material may reasonably value that connection.

The ESAIC preparation page also positions EDAIC Trainer among several official support options, including BCSAC, OLA/HOLA, ESAIC Academy and sample questions. This is important context: even ESAIC presents multiple tools rather than describing one app as a complete preparation guarantee.

Official provenance does not mean that live examination questions are disclosed. The product page calls them Part I-type questions, and its copyright notice prohibits copying. Candidates should not expect or seek leaked material.

The principal limitation: published scale

ESAIC advertises more than 200 questions. Under the current Part I structure, each of the two papers has 60 stems, each followed by five true/false responses. A 200-question resource can be valuable for format calibration and focused learning, but candidates should decide whether it provides enough fresh repetitions for their planned months of retrieval, weak-topic targeting and mock work.

Volume is not quality. Two hundred carefully reviewed official-style questions may teach more than thousands of poorly explained items. Equally, a small high-quality set can become familiar after repeated attempts. Familiarity can inflate scores because the candidate remembers the item rather than independently retrieves the concept.

Ask:

How many questions do I expect to answer for diagnosis, learning, spacing and mocks?
Will repeat sessions show memorisation or durable transfer?
Do I need fine-grained filters across many subtopics?
What will provide fresh mixed sets after this pool becomes familiar?
Can I explain every response, not merely remember the pattern?

Explanations matter more than completion

ESAIC confirms that the Trainer includes answers and explanations, but its public page does not provide enough detail to score explanation depth for every item. A responsible review should not invent that assessment.

When you use any question platform, evaluate explanations with a small sample:

Does the explanation address each true/false response?
Does it identify the qualifier that determines the answer?
Does it explain the mechanism rather than repeat the answer?
Can you follow important claims to an authoritative source?
Is the source current where guidance changes?
Does the explanation help create a retrieval prompt?

An explanation is the start of review, not always the final authority. Resolve a conflict against an appropriate current source. Record the version and date when recommendations can evolve.

Progress percentage: useful but incomplete

The official page says EDAIC Trainer tracks score progress over time. A trend can show that performance on the app is changing, but it should not be treated as an official pass probability.

ESAIC's Diploma Guide explains that Part I pass marks can vary with paper standard and reference questions. Both papers must be passed. No preparation platform can truthfully transform one private score into a guaranteed EDAIC outcome.

Use percentage alongside:

breadth across Paper A and Paper B;
performance on fresh rather than remembered items;
high-confidence error rate;
success after delayed review;
repeated errors by domain;
pacing under full conditions;
number of untouched syllabus areas.

A score rise caused by repeating the same items is not equivalent to improvement on fresh mixed material. A modest score that exposes and repairs a difficult domain can be more valuable.

Access timing can decide value

For 2026, ESAIC publishes a fixed availability window of 2 April to 30 September. It says access lasts a maximum of six months starting on 2 April and ending on 30 September. Buying later cannot extend the published end date beyond September.

Before purchasing, write:

today's date;
your intended exam date;
the number of effective access weeks remaining;
weekly sessions you can realistically complete;
whether you need the resource after 30 September;
the official refund term.

ESAIC states that access is non-refundable. That makes pre-purchase verification important. Confirm device compatibility and purchase instructions through the official route before paying. Do not rely on an old app-store screenshot or another candidate's previous-year access.

Candidates planning for 2027 should not buy or budget using an assumed 2027 Trainer window. ESAIC had not published a 2027 Trainer offer on the checked page as at 30 July 2026.

EDAIC Trainer versus a broader question bank

This is not simply “official versus unofficial”. The tools can have different jobs.

An official trainer may be attractive for:

ESAIC-published provenance;
format calibration;
a bounded official-style pool;
topic-selected revision;
a straightforward score trend.

A larger independent question bank may be attractive for:

substantially more fresh questions;
detailed syllabus and subtopic filters;

EDAIC Trainer versus official samples and OLA/HOLA

ESAIC publishes sample Part I questions on its preparation page. These are the lowest-friction place to inspect the official MTF style before paying for any tool. They are a sample, not a complete revision system.

ESAIC also describes OLA/HOLA as a way to identify subjects requiring further study. Its purpose and availability differ from an app used across many small sessions. Read each current official page rather than assuming the names are interchangeable.

EDAIC Trainer versus textbooks and guidelines

Questions reveal gaps; they do not automatically teach every mechanism in sufficient depth. A complete system still needs authoritative explanation.

Use:

a comprehensive reference for mechanisms and context;
focused resources for defined weak domains;
current professional guidance where recommendations change;
questions for retrieval and discrimination;
an error log for delayed review;
timed mocks for pacing and endurance.

If the app exposes a physiology misconception, return to a suitable physiology source and reconstruct the concept. If it exposes an outdated guideline note, check the current issuing body. If it exposes a wording error, practise statement parsing.

Who may find the official Trainer a good fit?

It may fit a candidate who:
